On May 15-16-17, I am facilitating a workshop at CreativeLive.com and you are invited. It is free to watch the live online workshop each of the three days. Please RSVP here

My workshop is an intensive immersion into the essentials for your business. You’ll learn about laying the groundwork that gets your business through the difficult first year and beyond. You’ll explore the legal and financial aspects of funding your business and keeping it afloat. From business licensing—to pricing—to marketing strategies—to techniques that boost your bottom line, you’ll gain confidence in handling the day-to-day challenges that come with small business ownership.

Here’s an overview:

1. Identify the reason your business exist. Make sure you differentiate your mission from your vision statement. Both are equally important for but serve different purposes.

2. Capitalize on your unique talents and build the business that suits you. The key is to conceptualize your idea from the get-go and identify profitable business opportunities and turn them into revenue streams.

3. Evaluate existing opportunities and your competition. Who are they, what are their strengths, and where do they fail? Based on that information, you can define your product or service that is clearly differentiated from everybody else’s.

4. Budget the right way. How much do you need to fund your business? Most businesses don’t turn a profit during the first three years.

5. Write your customer profile(s) and identify the pain points you are providing a solution for. It’s key to connect with your clients without sounding like you are selling.

6. Protect yourself legally in all areas of your business. Select the right business entity and use contracts, purchase orders, terms of delivery.

7. Identify when you are ready to hire and determine what type of arrangement works best for your business. Do you need employees or freelancers, or is outsourcing the right choice for you?

8. Create systems and automate. If processes are repeated and can be duplicated, they should be automated. Select systems that offer plenty of opportunities for expansion so your business operates the right way from the start and can grow with ease.

9. Write your business plan. It is not necessary to have a 60-page full-blown Magna Carta. I’ll show you the must-have sections so you can write your plan quickly.

10. Market your business to the world based on its vision and mission statements, customer profiles, and business plan. You can market on a shoestring budget. There are free and paid methods that can be very effective for small businesses.

11. Be the leader your business needs! In this step, the spotlight is on you. Running a business requires leadership skills, vision, and staying power. You’ll learn why most businesses fail and how to avoid the mistakes entrepreneurs often make.

12. This last step is the key to running and growing your business. You must make continuous adjustments and tweaks to stay ahead in a changing market! Business is done differently now and something that works today may not work tomorrow.

I hope you’ll join me at CreativeLive.com! Again, it’s FREE to watch live. RSVP now
