Everything has changed. With so many people out of work, retaining your job, getting your job back, or finding a better one has to be your most critical concern.

A few months ago, there were few candidates available for employers. They had to roll out the red carpet to find the best employees, the high power, the high return candidates. This meant companies had to go out of their way to make employees happy and spend lots of resources trying to attract new prospects.

Now, the world has flipped upside down where employers have the upper hand. There’s a large pool of prospective employees in the market and not that many jobs. This simply means that learning how to get a job has changed.

As companies open and build out teams once again, your unique value proposition is going to be a crucial part of getting hired. Why do you need the job? Why should they hire you? What are your set of skills that makes you a better choice than anyone else? This is particularly important for women as, traditionally, we have not been that good about talking assertively and unapologetically about ourselves.

The people who are going to be hired are the ones that have something to offer that’s necessary right now. Take a look at the needs the business is serving. You should address those needs and show how you can contribute to their fulfillment. Watch the video and understand that the people who gets the job are the ones that have something to offer that’s necessary right now.

Knowing how to get a job back comes down to knowing your strengths and how they will serve your company. The key to your success will be your value proposition. Figure out what it is, and use it to your advantage.
