If you live in, or near Los Angeles please join me and attend Phyllis Chesler’s book reading at the Temple of Arts in Beverly Hills. The reading of “An American Bride in Kabul” is on April 22, 2014.

I’ve read the book and published my review on Amazon. The book is part memoir, political, historic, and for any woman who enjoys her freedom – a blood boiling read. Because there are very few voices available to us that share the plight of Muslim women in the Middle East and their real stories – the glimpse of a Westerner into the way of life is revealing and  shocking.

Personally I find it difficult to understand how men – how any man would be okay to have his wife be a virtual slave and prisoner to his will. But then again my knowledge of the Muslim customs and family traditions are limited to non-existent. It’s a revealing and thought provoking book. Phyllis Chesler herself is a must-meet. One of the original Second Wave Feminists she is a living legend. I am proud to know her personally and fully support her work.

Do let me know if you want to go, we can meet there and say hello to Phyllis afterward.
