“The key to change… is to let go of fear.” ~ Rosanne Cash
How to begin to achieve your goals? Well, start by believing that having it all can be actually achieved.
Begin by listening to the sound of your own inner voice demanding that you must have it all – and the magic word is not “please” but “now!”
When I look around, I see some women who have achieved success. But why so few women who’ve managed to grasp the sense of true fulfillment that we collectively so desire? Sure, we know women who’ve overcome adversity and have “made it.” There are others who seem to live charmed lives on the outside, but we somehow feel that surely they’re not without problems of their own.
Most of us didn’t get a head start . We have to work hard at getting what we want. That is why I’m writing for you: for the woman in the real world who wants to make her life happen and who cannot wait any longer; the woman who gets caught up in her daily life and struggles, and sometimes loses sight of the path ahead – the bigger picture; the woman who knows it could be a lot worse and who still manages to find some contentment.
Still, deep in this woman’s soul is this one point where she knows she holds a secret; the same secret you and I know so well – that we, as women, have not figured it out yet. There is something out there worth going after that will make this daily fight worthwhile – but what is it, what drives us so hard? And why is it that we find it so difficult to enjoy what we have already achieved?
The path to wanting and having it all has its challenges. There’s a reason why some succeed and others don’t. Sitting on the couch and watching TV will not get you there. If you do the same thing day in and out, nothing will magically change for the better. You must change something in order to see a different result. If you want to lose weight, you have to change the way you eat and exercise. If you want a better life, if you wish to achieve all the items on your want-it-all list, you need to start somewhere.
To get what you want, you need to first define in great detail what it is that you want. You need to improve your attitude as well as channel your spirit and your energy into starting to think about what it is, exactly, that that you want to have and achieve. You can’t have it all unless you know what the “it” in “having it all” means for you, specifically.
Tell me, what is the “it” in your wanting-it-all list? It can be concrete or not – physical or emotional or spiritual. It helps if you define it – and I’d love to hear what you think about it. Your process helps us all. Thank you for sharing with us!
